About Quotes.fm
Meaningful words deserve a better home.
Quotes.fm is a source-backed platform for discovering, understanding, keeping, and creating with memorable words across books, film, music, speeches, interviews, and more.
The whole picture
More than a feed. A complete home for quotes.
The homepage is intentionally simple: an open-ended stream of things worth reading. Behind that stream is a broader product that connects discovery, search, trustworthy context, personal memory, visual creation, and the next meaningful recommendation.
Why we exist
The internet made quotes easy to share—and hard to trust.
Too often, a memorable sentence is copied without a verifiable source, attributed to the wrong person, or buried in a repetitive list. Repetition can make a claim look authoritative without making it true.
Quotes.fm was created to give those words a more thoughtful place: searchable when you know what you need, explorable when you do not, and published only after a person has reviewed the quote and its real source.
Core features
Everything a quote should lead to.
Quotes.fm is designed around the full journey of a quote—from the first spark of discovery to understanding, keeping, creating, and finding the next one.
Explore visually
Wander through a living feed of quotes, people, and works. It is built for the moments when you want to discover something meaningful without knowing what to search for yet.
Enter the discovery feedSearch from any clue
Start with remembered words, a person, a character, a title, or an idea. Search is designed around how people actually remember quotes—not only perfectly typed phrases.
Search Quotes.fmSee the source and context
Move beyond a floating line of text. See who spoke or wrote it, the work it came from, and the evidence that supports the published wording and attribution.
Browse verified quotesFollow connected culture
Travel between a quote, its speaker, creator, character, and source work. Books, films, songs, speeches, and interviews belong to one connected knowledge graph.
Browse the catalogKeep what resonates
Like the words that stay with you. Personal collections and boards are the next step toward organizing meaningful quotes and rediscovering them at the right moment.
Find something worth keepingCreate something shareable
Turn a quote into a polished visual card while keeping its text readable and its attribution close. The design changes; the underlying quote and source do not.
Choose a quote to create withOne connected journey
A quote is a beginning, not a dead end.
Most quote sites stop after showing a sentence and a name. Quotes.fm is being built around the full loop that gives those words lasting value.
- Discover
Meet a quote in the feed, catalog, or search results.
- Understand
Open its source, context, people, and connected work.
- Keep
Like it now, then organize it into personal boards as collections grow.
- Create
Shape it into a visual made for sharing, without losing attribution.
- Rediscover
Follow relevant paths into the next idea instead of reaching a dead end.
Built for trust
Popularity is not proof.
A quote can be widely repeated and still be wrong. Quotes.fm publishes a quote only after a person checks it against a real source. Wording, attribution, and evidence are kept distinct so uncertainty can remain visible instead of being flattened into a confident-looking name.
What publication means on Quotes.fm
- 01The quote
The wording is checked before it is published.
- 02The source
A real book, film, song, speech, interview, or other work.
- 03The verifier
The Quotes.fm editorial team or a contributing user.
- 04The review
The source and attribution are checked before publication.
Across culture
One graph for the words that shape us.
A novelist, a fictional character, an actor, and a film are connected, but they are not interchangeable. Quotes.fm models those relationships across media so each published quote can name the right voice and its real source.
What makes it different
Built for meaning, not volume.
The goal is not to become the largest pile of quote text. It is to make every worthwhile quote more useful, more understandable, and easier to return to.
Structured, not flattened
A quote, its exact wording, where it appeared, who it is attributed to, and the supporting evidence remain separate, connected facts.
Cross-media by design
A character is not an actor, and a speaker is not always an author. The product preserves those relationships across different kinds of culture.
Discovery with judgment
Recommendations consider meaning, graph relationships, source quality, variety, and what you have already seen—not popularity alone.
Where we are today
Building carefully, in public.
Quotes.fm is under active development. The current public experience focuses on English-language discovery, search, connected catalog pages, source context, likes, recommendations, and quote-card creation. Personal boards, richer contribution tools, and deeper rediscovery will arrive as the catalog and review system grow.
